I am looking for some information on Buckhorn 209 vs 777 powder. I can find information on using 209 with a 209 primer but as I am in the Northwest, I need to use Musket Caps. Is 209 harder to ignite than 777 or is there any advantage either way?
Thanks

Yes, 209 will NOT ignite with musket caps, it requires the hot 209 primer.

777 should do fine with the musket cap, might even consider 3f T7 so it lights up easier.

Thanks. I have been using 3F T-7.  I will just stick with what is working.
