PostSubject: Throwing target -    Sun 19 Feb 2017, 23:33

I don't have access to large wood rounds and need an inexpensive throwing target. Was thinking about making something like this -

Any thoughts?

I was going to say plywood but that might be a little to hard. 2x4 scraps might be a good idea. Central NM might have some cactus to throw at lol

No large diameter trees there that you can take a chainsaw to? I've got at least a dozen trees that need cutting. Shipping would be a problem, however.  Laughing

hawkthrower, I wonder scratch if binding wooden dowels side-by-side then throwing into the end stump wound work for a Hawk/knife target?  Would take a lot of dowels though..

Marty,

Bet it would! but the number of dowels might be a bit giant..... I'm still looking at the possibilities. The place where I work just had several very large trees removed but the rounds are only about 18" diameter..... Id like to see if I can find something just a bit bigger. If I can't find something I guess I go get the scraps from the lumber yard if there are any... We'll see
