While waiting for USPS to drop off the great plains rifle, i found some info that i may want to do with the GPR.

Mainly to take the round "belly" off the stock and make it look thinner in that area.

Thin the forearm as well.

Color i am going to use the rusty walnut stain and get nice and dark, darker than ive ever done.

metal finish i am having some trouble with. I first thought, use the plum brown solution and then rub it back for a worn look. The other was my antique finish with the thread wrapped barrel and bleach.

I guess one step at a time. Start with getting the stock reshaped and stained the way i want and then look into the metal.

It is a wonderful rifle. I have one that I tweeked a little bit myself.

I just have a hard time taking it our now with iron sights now that I am spoiled by my Accura's.
