If your hunting tools include a shooting stick and you like to pack light like I do, then check out VANGUARD’s PRO Series M62 mono gun pod.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

The M62 features a 360 degree rotating head, and has a unique yoke Adjustment System (YAS) that allows you to change the V-notch cradle

to one of three, angled positions. The YAS is adjusted by simply unlocking the yoke with the push of a button (orange in picture), and allows you to create either an 80 (shown above), 120 or

160 degree angle (shown above with 5 inch platform) to fit different firearms.

Another feature found on this stick include the ability to convert the gun pod to a walking stick

(bonus handle supplied), and includes a wrist strap, a metal carrying clip, and a built-in compass. (While the handle compass would not be the first one I’d grab if going on a wilderness expedition, it works fine and serves its purpose.)

The length of the stick adjusts quickly with two strong flip leg locks,

and the pod shaft has a scale on it

for measuring the depth of snow or water. You can also add the supplied snow shoe to the end of the stick,

and you can remove the rubber shoe to expose a metal stud

for added stability if the conditions demand. The yoke and hiking handle are attached to a standard ¼” universal threaded bolt which gives you the added option to mount optics such cameras or spotting scopes.

Folded at 28 inches the M62 is portable enough to be tied to my back pack,

and its 12 ounce weight won’t weigh me down. The dual-function design of the Pro Series M62 makes it versatile enough to use year-round, and can help steady your aim whether you’re standing, kneeling or sitting.

Nice stick, but mono sticks don't work for me. I have a nice one, but never use it. It still has too much side to side movement when lining up a shot. I may get a Bi Pod to try. I think it would be worth carrying the extra bulk.

Yes, I was looking at them. Don't you agree about the single stick moving side to side. I feel more steady going down on my knee.

At my age I need a guide carrying a tri pod. cheers

That's not going to happen. I can think of better ways to spend $4500.
