Does anyone know anything about the Traditions Canyon model? Just wondering how it shoots and if it can shoot Blackhorn 209?

Yes it will shoot BH209 fine. Another model in the same price range is the cva optima or the cva wolf.

Prove it!!

The CVA Optima I owned shot the tighest groups of any ML that I've owned, kicking my self for letting go of it but I sold it to a new ML shooter getting started so I spoiled him I'm sure...Only TC I've owned was a BlackDiamond XR(sold it as it was a dirty rascel)and it would not group like the Optima

TC's are rather expensive this side of the pond so we mostly stick to CVA,Traditions(Ardesa) Pedersoli and Investarms guns. Embarassed

Spitfire, the pink one is a new Pro Hunter FX 50 cal. It is unfired as of right now, but this evening there will be smoke. It is my 13 year old daughter's gun and she sure is proud of it. If it shoots anthing like the one below it, I will be happy. We have a bachelor group of 5 bucks coming out to a bean field where we hunt. Our youth season is in Sept. before the archery guys gets underway. If I can get her a shot 100 yards or less at one of those bucks, she will put one down. I am amazed how well she shoots mine.

The Bergara barrel is good for any price. That's why TC owners buy them.

Never seen a TC barrel on a CVA. clown

Tony you might get a surprize when she takes that buck at more than 100yards ! Tell her to keep up the good shooting , we had a 16-18 yr old lady win the PMP group shooting
competition here last year so the boys should not assume the shooting game belong to them Exclamation

Back to the original question. I love my Canyon. It's accurate, light, and easy to use and maintain. With the load in my signature I'm shooting 1" groups at 100 yards. It was $179 on sale at Cabela's and it came with a Traditions soft case. I've seen it on their site for as low as $129. I can't say about using BH209 with it. Hope this helps!

I can't give you any info on the canyon but since you're looking at that one you might want to take a look at this one also. I have not seen a bad review on it yet. It has the same breech plug as the Pursuit which will shoot Blackhorn 209.
