I ran across this video on Youtube and enjoyed it a lot.  I thought maybe the side lock shooters out there might enjoy this too! It's an interview with a master gun maker who makes them the old fashioned way.  He loads the flintlock the traditional way too.

Thanks for the article.   Many of the old gunsmiths used very soft iron for their barrels.  They sometimes cut the barrel flats with a draw knife.

They made the barrels with soft iron so they could be 'refreshed'!!
