I was watching a CVA Hawken stock on ebay to buy and do another build off of for anyone that was interested.

Yeah... that did not happen after some crack heads bid the stock up to $233  crazy

The problem with those people on fleabay is that they have no idea what something is worth.  I saw a H&R barrel in 7.62x39 go for almost $400 ($300 + change).  I don't remember the exact amount, I know that H&R no longer sells guns in this caliber, but that is crazy, you can buy a new bolt action in that caliber for that amount.

Let the buyer beware.  They like to use proxy bidders to run the price up. I guess it all depends on how bad you want it.  I guess they wanted it bad.

Yeah, i've seen the same thing.  The wood stock for my New Englander came from ebay.

Ebay does not allow the sale of guns; so the sellers part the guns out.

One thing about ebay, if you get outbid on an item, keep watching because sooner or later there will be another one.

I normally put an automatic bid limit on things I want , but within reason and if it exceeds that I will look for another one at a better price.

I know one knucklehead that has "multiple personalities" on Fleabay and Gunbroken just for the purpose of bidding up prices on his auctions.  I have expressed my feelings  :Bat  in no uncertain terms about that practice but he does not seem to care.

With that being said, I have got some good gun parts from those auction sites for reasonable prices.  I like to look for "broken" guns to salvage parts for projects. Like spitfire said, I set my limit and just walk away.  I won't get into the last second sprint for the win.

"Winning" an auction is a bad term. It makes you think you got a freebie or something. All we really do is pay for the product we bought.

Winning..as in....winning a competition.
