PostSubject: Loaded pics   March 4th 2014, 12:11 am

I got my 58cal all loaded and decided to do my best at taking a picture of a patched round ball, loaded and ready to go inside the bore. It interests me at how much patch folds over the front of the ball. And on a better clearer pic I noticed a deep round groove the ramrod imprints into the face of the ball, I will have to take a look at my loading jag and see what I can do to prevent this.

You can see the patch much clearer along with that error my loader leaves on the face on the ball.

Try an even bigger patch that may fold over the top of the ball. If it does, your jag may be cushioned and not dent the ball.

Or use a jag that is fitted to the ball...

Pretty neat photos! Gives a bit different perspective of what it looks like after loaded.

Those are some cool pics. I have been shooting roundballs out of my traditions Flint Deerhunter. And just ordered some 385 grain conical. Wanted to see how they shoot out of it. Shooting 90 gr of FFg now will have to pump that up I think

90gr should be perfect IMO. Thats a light weight rifle so maybe looking into a slip on recoil pad may help greatly with those conicals!
