PostSubject: SENT A MESSAGE TO KNIGHT   Mon 14 Apr - 21:10

I sent a message to the owner of Knight Rifles today about their ridiculous prices & shipping costs. If you buy anything from Knight, or plan to, I advise you to look at the cost of the item & the cost of the shipping. I also suggest that others write polite but direct emails & messages to them (the owner moderates the Facebook page) Maybe if enough people complain, they will bring their prices back down to reality!

You mean like the $15 shipping they were going to charge me to ship one nipple? I can ship a nipple to anybody in the US for less than $1.00

They lost me after that deal.

I also sent a message to Knight concerning my displeasure at their raising the price of their Ultimate range rod to $104.99. Here they have a product that people seem to be pleased with, and then they go and price it beyond reason. They have certainly lost a potential customer in me.

PostSubject: Re: SENT A MESSAGE TO KNIGHT   Tue 15 Apr - 6:36

Yes Pete.....exactly! They are way out of line on things & in his response to me it was all caused by keeping all Knight products American made & that has caused material cost increases. The problem I have with that statement is that the 40 cal Bloodlines went up, but not their other Bloodlines. The 40's are the smallest & take the least material, but are now the most expensive? And of course there's the range rod that more than doubled in price! For that amount of material? Really? Do they think it's made of gold?!!
It looks to me like they raised the price of their most popular items in order to generate more funds, but I know a LOT of people are upset with them & are buying other brands, even dedicated Knight guys. I'm hoping if they get enough complaints they'll make some changes. I'm proud to buy American made & I desire to do so, however, I have to be able to afford it as well. Knight is eliminating that part of it for me as well as many others Sad

I just heard back from Knight Rifles on the Ultimate Range Rod. This is is what they sent----

"The price is wrong. It was $14.99 on closeout and will not be carried anymore. Thanks."

Don't understand why they would discontinue a popular item! I haven't seen anything but favorable reviews on their range rod so it doesn't make much sense to me to stop carrying them.

im tired of the " because its American made" story they try pawning off. Just because its made in the USA doesnt give them or anyone else the right to rip you off on shipping.

I'm happy & proud to be able to buy am American made product, but I DON'T like getting ripped off for my loyalty.
After my last message to the owner as to his claim of "American made costs more" , well he just chose not to respond back.
I have kept it friendly, but honest & haven't been harsh or excited towards them & I will continue in that fashion, but when a company just chooses to ignore me, I get a bit hot under the collar. I love my Mountaineer & have no regrets about buying it, but Knight will have to make some huge changes before I buy anything else or refer anyone to them.

I've always had good luck with them. Always helpful and friendly on the phone. They've sent me I don't know how many free parts too.

Aren't they giving you a free stock?

The old TC (pre S&W) was a great company with just about the best CS out there. Can't even begin to tell you what I've heard since the buyout but I can say for most people it's a train wreck!

Which doesn't make sense, because S&W has good CS. Why would they let a company they own not have the same thing?

I can only go by my own experience, and it's been great. I always sweet talk the girl who answers the phone though.  Very Happy

I don't get it? When I was talking to her on the phone. I got a confirmation email before I hung up, and had the free parts in 3 days.

Don't you know how to sweet talk them?

LOL.. I guess i'm the luckiest old man there is. She picked up the phone right away.

I never send emails to anybody if I can call. That's why I have a phone. Nobody calls me, because I don't answer it.  Very Happy

T/C has gone waaay downhill with CS. I bought a gun from a guy who ordered and paid for an Encore choke tube last August. The woman was sweet as sugar and kept sending a bushing instead. He got a parts diagram, encircled the part, and sent it in. She sent him the same bushing back because that was the part number she had on file for the tube.  crazy

After 3 round-trips he finally got the choke tube in late February.
