Are you talking about a shooting bench?

2x4s and plywood are very heavy for anything mobile. If you have the room for a range, just buy some cheap PT 2x4s at Home Depot and 4 three-inch diameter fence posts. Sink the 4 fence posts deep in the ground until the tops are just below shooting height (desk height), place 2x4s around the perimeter, square or rectangle, and screw sawed sections of 2x4s to the supports with about 1/4" between each board to allow for drainage.  Saw of the ends to achieve the shape you want and you have a permanent shooting bench that won't rot.
I did mine like that 18 years ago and used it 2 days ago. It's still fine. I use an overturned 5 gal. bucket for a seat.

Pato

The rest was portable. It was pretty small maybe 35"X35" top, with foldable and extendable legs.

The front had a hinged door with a handle to carry it by.

I remember that thread, but can't remember the thread title.
