I ended up stripping out the wood screw hole on my GPR trigger guard tightening it up to tight. Any one have any suggestions on how I can get the screw to fit tight again? Respectfully, cowboys 1062.

JB Weld works excellent for that. I normally just fill the hole and let it dry, drill the proper depth and lube the screw and have at it.

Cut a few slivers of hard wood and glue them in the hole. This will save the trouble of drilling a new hole and will make it a lot easier for everything to line up.

.. or bore out the hole in the trigger guard to accommodate a larger wood screw. It all depends on whether you want form or function.

Thanks for the replies! I think that I am going to use tooth picks and wood glue to fix the problem. Respectfully, cowboys 1062.

I have used the JB weld a few times on gun repair..works like a champ....I have tried the tooth pick trick before..it works ..but for awhile..the harmonics of the gun when fired begins to loosen things a bit why scope mounts and rings and barrel lugs loosen if not torqued right even with loc tite ......the glue will help anyways...
