The Remington Muzzleloader .What is the drop at 300 yards with a 4 pellet load an a 300 gr bullet I say 4 ft. I don't own one but my Friend does an think it like a 270 or a 300 mag .Yo me a muzzleloader is a black powder gun Cap lock or flint lock or Inline Their all there back in 1800 along with a thing like the old accura shot or new mag spark/ Book with Ned Roberts  says so.

far from being a 270 or 300 mag, the wind drift is huge compared to the other rifles. The drop also is great. How much? No clue, but our 30-06 is 8" low at 300 yards with 165gr sierra's.

With the scopes these days, sure you can shoot 300 yards but can you really judge the wind speed and the 3 or 4 feet of drift that bullet could have? Its not just point and shoot at those distances.

With a MV of 2200 FPS and a 300 grain PT Gold zeroes at 100 yards roughly 28" of drop. If the zero is pushed to 200 yards it is 17" according to Isnipe the ballistic calculator that I use. The 300 Win mag using a 180 grain ballistic tip going 2950 FPS with a 200 yard zero is 6.4" of drop at 300 yards.
IMHO if he wants 300 Win Mag type performance in a muzzleloader he will need to switch to a smokeless powder muzzleloader.  Sub powders and sabots will not get you there. To get a 300 grain bullet to match the drop of the 300 win mag the MV would need to be....... 3200 FPS!!!  I know some guys with smokeless muzzle loaders are pushing 300grain bullets in the low 3000 FPS but are specially built for it. Not to mention the recoil produced by such a rifle isn't light.
