PostSubject: Traditions striker fire recommended load...   June 23rd 2015, 1:40 pm

Hello guys! I'm new to the forum and just picked up a new strikerfire from cabelas. Its bare with no sights or anything,I'm hoping to get it all set up this summer.Of course I've been looking up powder, projectiles, and primers specifically 777 pellets,777 primers, and 250 grain Hornady sst sabots.i was wondering if anyone has any experience with this combo out of strikerfire...or maybe a load that you use out of your strikerfire that you'd recommend. Thanks!

#1 thing you should order and I highly recommend are these o rings. Drop one into the primer pocket of your breech plug, it prevents the primer from damaging the frame.

Load info on a couple Traditions rifles I reviewed,

Another members review as well,

For a sabot load, I'd suggest the 260gr Harvester Scorpion PT Gold, Black crush rib sabot and a Winchester W209, CCI 209 Magnum or Federal 209a primer.

I was a noob last year, so it may not be proper for me to offer advice, but MAN do I like shooting the Blackhorn 209. The clean up is so easy and there's no swabbing between shots. It shoots great in my Traditions ML.

BTW, FrontierGander as well as Carlos at Ed's Gunshop were tremendous resources and steered me right.

While my rifle isnt the Striker model it is the previous model. I've only used Blackhorn 209 for powder and have had success with both the 260 & 300 PT Gold, 250 & 290 Barnes, and 300 bonded SST. I've used Fiocchi, Federal 209A, and Winchester primers. The Harvester smooth black sabot is my go to sabot but for the Barnes I have to use the Knight Blue sabots.
