Wolf or optima? Is there that much of a difference between the two? Heard all good about the wolf but heard a little bad about the optima. Reviews are like a grain of salt but just want personal experience.

Never saw a bad review on the Optima. It's a little better gun that the Wolf. Both will work just fine. I've had a few of both, and now have an Optima.

Optima had a bit of a better trigger right out of the box. A longer 26" barrel VS 24"

Accuracy wise, they are both deadly accurate, Some of my best shooting was with an Wolf and right there along with it, was my Optima.

Its really more of a decision of what barrel length you want.

Does the Wolf still have the dreaded hollow ramrod? I've broken one before on an older Wolf.

Both are good guns.  The Optima V2 would be my choice.  I like the barrel release much better than the front trigger guard release of the Wolf.  Both are good shooting guns. As far as feel goes, the thumbhole stock on the Optima feels "right".  You will love either gun, seriously.

I my self like the feel of the Optima with a thumbhole stock and the release on them, they both are very accurate, The Optima just feels a little better when I shoulder it and hold it. My thoughts about it.

The thumbhole stock on the Optima is made for a scope only. The comb is way too high for open sights. Keep that in mind when you choose one.

You'll like the Optima.
