Looks like a Bobcat that it's sitting on. If so, it will take a hell of a pounding with that light gun if heavy loads are used.

it still is! Anytime i see a scope on a sidelock i say, no thank you! All scoped sidelocks i bought except for one, had a bore full of rust.

It's odd, but not out of the question. I have done the same on .22 that lacked bolt clearance. It makes the scope really prone to the tube being bent if dropped. In the case of the Bobcat, there really is no good location to place that rear mount. In this case I would have spread the rings out a bit.

A scout or shotgun type scope with a longer eye relief or a pistol scope would work With a normal-type mount.
