PostSubject: Hawken Rear Sight Replacement   November 22nd 2015, 3:41 pm

Hey Guys, The rear sight adjustment on Pam's CVA Hawken is loose and will not stay in place. Twice it has blown off with the ignation of the powder. Needless to say, she is not a happy camper with muzzleloader season underway. Any thoughts on repairing it or any suggestions on a replacement adjustable sight.

Thanks
Jerry

Tap the rear sight out and towards the middle, use a round punch and lightly peep the top of the barrel flat to create a wedge. You can also just leave the sight in place and then use a FLAT punch and to the front where its accessible.

none really, I am real picky on my sights that i use. Fiber optics just dont cut it for me anymore. Even those, you still have to peen the dovetail to get them snug. I actually did a 1911 9mm for my nephews friend because it would slide back and forth. Just typical stuff when dealing with dovetails.
