Description :

Howdy folks:
Two Feathers here:
I think Hugh Glass; Jim Bridger, or Jeremiah Johnson would have liked this one too?

There’s not really a lot to say about it, the photo pretty much says it all.
It’s a 1-1/2” diameter Magnifying lens; cased in leather, with 1-1/4” of exposed lens. It measures 2-1/4” across the outside. This item is period correct, and completely hand made by me from 4oz. vegetable tanned leather. It is hand stitched with natural color artificial sinew. This one is dyed Black, and has an attached 17” soft Buckskin thong for hanging around your neck. The convex lens: which is used to produce a magnified image of an object, can also be used to intensify the sun’s rays for fire starting. It has also been used to cauterize or “burn” the ragged edges of wounds on the battlefields for centuries. It will help start a much needed camp fire, as long as the sun is present, locate an annoying splinter, or read small print. The cost is $25.00 + $4.00 s&h It has that “rustic look” of being hand crafted by a Mountain Man in his cabin in the Rocky Mountains during the Fur Trapper era.
I hope you find it interesting and a worthwhile purchase. If I get any interest, I’ll make more. This item is very labor intensive and therefore, I’ve only made these 2, so far.
If you’re interested, contact me, or if on the Frontier Muzzleloading website, PM me. Remember Christmas is just a few weeks away.
I prefer PayPal, but I will take postal money orders and something new, I’m accepting personal checks now. However personal checks will add 2 weeks to the buying process. As always: thank you for looking.
God bless:
