"Whereas it is the duty of all Nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, to obey his will, to be grateful for his benefits, and humbly to implore his protection and favor."  George Washington

“We have no government armed with power capable of contending with human passions unbridled by morality and religion. Avarice, ambition, revenge or gallantry would break the strongest cords of our Constitution as a whale goes through a net. Our Constitution is designed only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate for any other.”   John Adams

"God who gave us life gave us liberty. Can the liberties of a nation be secure when we have removed a conviction that these liberties are the gift of God? Indeed I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is just, that His justice cannot sleep forever." Thomas Jefferson

"I have lived, Sir, a long time and the longer I live, the more convincing proofs I see of this truth -- that God governs in the affairs of men. And if a sparrow cannot fall to the ground without his notice, is it probable that an empire can rise without his aid? We have been assured, Sir, in the sacred writings that "except the Lord build they labor in vain that build it."" Benjamin Franklin

To add a few personal comments:

First my British born and raised bride became a U.S. Citizen back in December. Her former country that she was a "subject" of..... the United Kingdom, declared it's own independence this past week. Today she celebrates both.

It is a sad state of affairs that she knows more of this day's meanings than so many Americans who suffered under the education system of the many states of America. If at least a third of the nation are supporters of the 2nd Amendment, is it not possible for us to individually educated the other two thirds, of our nation's foundations including the Declaration of Independence, the whole of the Constitution and the reasons for their creations?

As a gentle reminder, here is a photo of me and my son's recreating those living historical foundations.....James on the left portrays a clergyman. My son Young on the right portrays an Mohican Indian ally.

Have a blessed and enjoyable Independence Day celebration!

Have a wonderful Independence day!

Thanks Jerry.............my boys were involved in our men's trail ride ministry as young as 12 and 14...James the youngest was my "fishing pro" and Young was my "head wrangler". The living history is for fun and education. I hope to soon employ them again. Very Happy
