I am afraid that I am destined to attend muzzleloader and historical events by myself or with friends. Jane has no interest at all. But, she also doesn't try to keep me from my beloved hobbies and interests.
Since she is such a good person, I still will keep her. :tup2

Dress the greyhounds in period garb and make her want to show them off.
She will go.

Now, what do period greyhounds wear... Question

Pistol holsters?

French caps?

Western blankets?

Saddle bags and possible bags?

Spanish used (Galgo Espańol) as war dogs in "New Spain" on the Iberian Peninsula and later in "New Spain"........and what is modern day South Eastern United States. Here's  appropriate period dress for war dogs of the late 18th century, early 19th century.

If those young people are around here, I am always up for mentoring!
I have volunteered to demonstrate and teach about font stuffers for some local Boy Scout troops. They could each have a turn shooting one of my muzzleloaders.
The scout masters could only see liability issues and politely rejected the offer.
I even volunteered to wear my old assistant scoutmaster's uniform, but the complete uniform must have shrunk on the hanger over the last 35 years. Rolling Eyes YEh, that's what happened. They shrank. Must be because the outfit was wayyyyy too small. Wink

Doug, our Greyhound association has rescued many Galgos. Treatment of them in Spain was barbarous. And, that collar you have pictured looks a lot like the one Jane puts on me.

Only because she loves you and is trying to keep you from "taking it in the neck".   The Boy Scout thing sounds crazy since they have a Mountain Man thingy with muzzleloaders at Philmont. I guess I have an advantage because there is plenty of opportunity in the local churches.......most Christian parents are eager to "deprogram" their kids from a metrosexual tech obsessed culture and to have them learn more masculine manners and skills......and there's the whole history thing.

There is a theory at least that Catahoula dogs are a cross between "Galgos", Mastiffs and South eastern (Louisiana) red wolves......."war' dogs that got loose and cross bred within domesticated Grey Hounds and Mastiffs and eventually red wolves.

Does it shoot wood ammo?

We had 3 Greyhounds up until we lost one due to osteosarcoma, a bone cancer. Her leg that had been weakened by the cancer just shattered when she ran in the back yard. Geneva, the one we lost, is on the right:

It just shoots rubber bands of "thick" caliber, Pete.

I am so glad some one else thinks rubber band guns are fun.
Had a lot of fun with them as a kid.

I have been told I can not give them to my nieces and nephews
because they look like a gun and they might put an eye out.
It is amazing how much fun is squelched in trying to make the
entire world totally safe from everything.

Nice dogs, Ron.
