PostSubject: Howdy from Texas   August 18th 2016, 3:41 pm

I'm a new ML deer hunter from Round Rock, Texas.  My weapon of choice is a CVA Optima V2 with a BH breech plug and Leupy 2-7 scope.  First outing I shot 295g Power belts behind 100g Triple 7 and W209 primers.  Results at 100 yards were ok.  Two groups 1 1/2" and 1 3/4" (with a flyer).  Definitely kill shots.

Afterwards I contacted Carlos for Harvester bullets, sabots, and a headspace kit.  Should make it to the range next week.

As far as the headspace.  I have no blow by using Winchester W209 primers.  I measured a dozen primers with a digital mic.  Variances were .3035 to .2995.  Even with the longest primers where was no compression or reduction in length?

When the Triple 7 FFG runs out, I will change to BH powder.  As far as primers, I'm a trap shooter and buy them by the 5000 count sleeve. I'lll check accuracy with BH powder before going Fiocchi or CCI Mag.

Thank you gentlemen.  I do see the website as a resource.

Now if I could just figure out how to post photos from that evil google folder...

Dude, you use photo bucket. You upload there and then copy the link here.
It is easier than it sounds.
