Back at you Jerry.  I wish I was in an elevated perch looking at deer.  Good luck!

Merry Christmas everyone.

P.S. The afternoon of Christmas Eve is a great time to go hunting. All the other hunters are at home .. AND you can get away from your in-laws for a while.  santa

I received a nice little hunting knife from my daughter.  The maker is Havalon and the model is called the Piranta Z.  Never have to sharpen because the blades are replaceable.  It came with a nice sheath and 12 "Surgically sharp" replacement blades, also extremely light.  It's not a bushcraft knife but for field dressing a deer I believe it's going to be perfect!  I'm pretty happy.

We celebrated on Friday because our son was on duty on Saturday and Sunday. We received a hefty windstorm for Christmas day in the afternoon, with wind speeds hitting 80-90 mph. Down came a section of the 6 ft fence. It knocked out our wi-fi, internet, and telephone service through Monday evening.
Like the bumper sticker says: "Stuff happens." Without the connections to the 'net, we actually had to talk to each other! Can you imagine that?! Very Happy
We only wanted the company of some family for Christmas. The joy was in giving our son and daughter-in-law some gifts for their home. Still, my wife and I received books. The books were fine, but the Santa wrapping paper was great!

We celebrated Christmas on Monday because my kids and grandkids came down.
I gave my son-in-law a .38 S&W Model 10 and a box of ammo so everyone had to go to the pasture and shoot up his box of ammo. He left with no way to defend himself from the bad guys. Wink

My grandson tried to chase down my 1300 lb. bull. The bull escaped with no damage as did my grandson. My nickname for him is the Tasmanian Devil (the grandson not the bull).

All in all, everyone had a good time.
