First met this dog about six years ago.  She lived with the cattle on a property near our deer lease.  Started feeding her nearly every time i went by there.   Other folks fed her too, especially the roving cowboy, who is responsible for many cattle herds.

At first the dog was very shy.  As time went by she would come closer.   The dogs health starting going down hill last summer.   About one month ago the cowboy found her deaf and blind.  She was put to sleep; she was 20 years old.

20 years is a very long time for a dog. Some horses don't even get that old. Was she owned by anyone?

I've always had hunting dogs so they were exposed to gunshot noise and almost all of them got deaf after they reached 12+ years. My spaniel, Nyssa, is 11 and she hears about as well as I do which isn't saying much. However, her eyesight is still OK.
