Often referred to as "Half Parson" by his companions because of his fervent Christian faith. He often felt guilty for his "frivolous adventurous" life rather than being back taking care of the family farm and his aging parents. Few accomplish more in the exploration of the west.

Here's a few statements you'll enjoy 'lighthorse'.  This was on my mother's side of the family, the good Rev. Boyer owned a flour mill at Lock's Bank that would get raided several times a year by traveling Native Americans according to family journals and old newspaper articles.
