did I miss it, or has no one  posted anything about the maxim 50???

new suppressed 50 cal ML rifle

since the atf does not consider ML's as firearms, then the attached suppressor is not actually a suppressor, its a "moderator" and can therefore be purchased and shipped directly to your door, no FFL background check, no fingerprints, no tax stamp needed (in most states)

its a traditions break action ML and silencerco welds on the moderator---it's a 20" barrel, 9" attached moderator, 7lb 6 oz, no sights or rail, but drilled and tapped receiver, they claim 140dB for normal full power loads, must use full bore, non-separating sabot bullets-- so no standard sabots, no powerbelts--- they recommend federal b.o.r lock or hornady fpb's, but thor's would work fine also, they recommend BH209 powder, uses 209 primers so that would limit some states, they recommend washing the moderator out with hot water after 40-50 shots and drying fuly before more shooting, and its $1000

what are your thoughts???

What's wrong with making noise? It goes with all the smoke.  Very Happy

Silencing a muzzleloader is senseless unless you use BlackHorn 209 or a smokeless-based substitute powder. Even then particulates will eventually block the baffles and render the muffling properties void. And washing it out with water isn't going to displace most of the particulates. You would need new baffles after a short time.

The only practical way is to use one is on a smokeless muzzleloader and if you are going to do that, it is really a modern single-shot rifle except for lawyer speak.

Junk imo. The striker fire can be had at under 400, so that thing at the end is 600. Not to mention the lack open sights for colorado. It has no place in the woods.
