PostSubject: Primer Seal   November 6th 2017, 11:36 am

Soooo, on advice from FG, I ordered a bunch of bitty o-rings and sealed my primer pocket.

I found it very difficult to lock the gun shut, but with a smart wrist snap, I managed. I fired a few primers through it and then sighted in the gun (Traditions Pursuit UL) with 4 shots (3rd and 4th shots hit my dot at 50 and 100 yards, thankyouverymuch Smile ). The fourth shot didn't seem to close that much easier.

I'm hoping it gets better. I wasn't up for turning my shoulder into hamburger, so I didn't shoot any more. I know I should have, but I didn't want to develop a flinch. Can I assume that this is ok and will likely get better? I do note that my breech plug and spent primers are clean as whistles so I'm definitely getting a good seal.

Could be that the "head space" is a little tighter on yours, different brands of primers are both longer and shorter. Winchester W209 for example are the longest I have found.

Wrist snap is exactly the way its done! With that super light UL Pursuit, it may feel like its taking a ton of force, but remember, shes light! Doesnt have any weight behind it to help you out.

Keep at it! Its a hell of a lot better keeping that action clean and the primers sealed huh?

The Win209's are what I am using. So that explains.
