PostSubject: SIDELOCK ISSUES   January 15th 2018, 10:26 am

HAD MY CVA MISSOURI HUNTER OUT TODAY.  HAVEN'T SHOT HER SINCE JULY .  SO I CHANGED MY POWDER FROM OLDE ENYSFORD TO BLACK MZ POI DID NOT CHANGE THAT MUCH HOWEVER WITH THE OLDE E I WAS GETTING 1.5 GROUP AS MY BEST TODAY 1.75 WITH ANOTHER AROUND 1.8 AT+/- 60 YDS . NORMAL GROUPS WITH OLDE E AROUND 2 WITH BLACK MZ AROUND 2.25-2.5  NOW IT WAS COLD 22 DEGREES AND OVERCAST.

SO MY QUESTIONS ARE WHICH IS MORE POWERFUL THE OLDE E OR THE MZ ?    SECONDLY, ANYBODY HAVE AN IDEA FOR A DIFFERENT SIGHTS,  THE FRONT IS FINE WHICH IS A BLACK SIGHT SIMILAR TO THE BRASS ONES TRADITIONS PUTS ON THEIR NEW SIDELOCKS, BUT THE REAR IS THIS, LITTLE SCREW ADJUSTABLE FOR ELEVATION SIGHT SITTING INSIDE A LARGER SIGHT WHICH IS ADJUSTABLE FOR WINDAGE.  I HAVE A HECK OF A TIME LEVELING THAT UP.  I AM THINKING OF ORDERING THE OLD CVA ADJUSTABLE  SIGHT FROM DEER CREEK PRODUCTS I HAVE IT ON MY OLD CVA FRONTIER BUT AGAIN I FIND THAT THE FRONT SIGHT IS A LITTLE THIN FOR THE LARGER REAR NOTCH.  ANY SUGGESTION FOR A WIDER FRONT . ARE THE CVA NOTCHES 3/8 ?

I ALSO HAD A PROBLEM WITH THE BLACK MZ CLUMPING UP INSIDE MY MEASURE IT POURED OK FROM THE BOTTLE BUT IT CLUMPED INSIDE THE MEASURE TO THE POINT WHERE I HAD TO TAP IT TO MAKE SURE IT WAS EMPTY .  COLD WEATHER OR BAD QUALITY ?  IT DID BURN QUITE CLEAN THOUGH LAST TIME I USED IT IN A SIDELOCK I IGNITED IT WITH A 209 PRIMER IN A HUBBARD ADAPTER AND IT WAS NO CLEANER THAN 777.

LASTLY,  ANYBODY RECOMMEND A BULLET CASTER FOR 385 GR MINIE BALLS?  I WAS USING SOME MADE BY TRACK OF THE WOLF AND THE FIRST BATCH I USED IN JUNE CAME IN REALLY GOOD SHAPE THIS LAST BATCH HOWEVER HAD A FEW WITH NOT THE BEST LOOKING BASES.  I HAVE USED IN THE PAST THE PR BULLET COLORADO CONICAL AND HIS BASES WERE ALWAYS PERFECT BUT IT LOOKS LIKE HE NO LONGER SELLS THEM.

AS ALWAYS THANKS FOR ANY HELP.

Olds eynsford will be a lot more powerful. With a 209 primer you will find that the crud ring or thick fouling is still an issuers after a few shots.
