PostSubject: Stock profile alterations.    March 8th 2018, 7:28 am

Thought I'd share the stock profiling changes on my current project. I wanted the stock to look a little more like a Berks County rifle. Any thoughts or suggestions would be most appreciated.
First picture shows the removal of the stock star inlay and the lines to remove and reshape the cheek and bottom edge of the buttstock

Still have a long way to go but I thought after reading Jon's thread on redoing Ricks rifle, the stock profile changes might be interesting.

Looks to me that you are doing a very professional job. You are going to be very happy with the modification.

A good project and you are sure improving the cheek. Looking at other Berks rifles you may want to make the lower edge a bit higher. The line should be parallel to the center of the wrist.

Looks like I might have to change the angle just a little to line up with the centerline of the wrist. The line shows a line from the center of the rear of the lockbolt panel, through the center of the heart wrist inlay and down to the rear of the cheek panel. Thanks for the suggestion.

Looking good!

My JP McCoy lacks a toe plate and I've always like the shape of the one you selected.

Not sure my skills are on par with yours though...........
