As I grew up many years ago my father basically only had one gun ... a Browning 1910/55 in .380. I thought he would leave it to me, his oldest son, when he passed. However, he had Alzheimer's at the end and the gun disappeared.

Ever since then I looked for a pistol like his and I finally found one in almost new condition. I was really excited when it arrived and overjoyed when it shot to point of aim offhand.

I now see why my Dad always carried this little gem.

Browning makes good guns. As a kid I had a Browning shotgun. I forgot the model now. The one that had a square receiver. It's the only Browning I ever owned. Shot for birds and a slug for deer.

Most of the older Browning guns were made by FN in Belgium. Then they switched to Japan. I don't know where they are made now.

I had a Browning Hi Power in 9mm once but the original owner liked it better than I did so I sold it back to him. It was just too big and bulky for a 9mm. It reminded me of a 1911 in 9mm. If you're going to have a 1911-size gun, you might as well have it in .45 acp.

Yeah, I forgot about that. Mine was made in Belgium. I remember that part of it.

I have a Belgium made BAR in 7mm Remington Magnum...one hell of a gun for follow up shots...not that I’ve ever needed on with a 7 mag!
