If I were to hunt with Pyrodex in my sidelock what would be the best way to dress my bore without turning it into a rust pipe.

Keep in mind I'm guessing the weather here on the east coast will be about 75 and probably over 50 % humidity.

For cleaning? Just simple warm soapy water, swab it clean, plug the barrel and pour in a little alcohol to remove moisture, dry bore again, follow up with your favorite gun lube.

I meant I'd like to leave a little fouling in the bore so the first shot hits in the group.  I've always read that a rifle will shoot differently with pyrodex on a squeaky clean bore vs a bore with sulphur in it.

Not recommended with Pyro. It's really corrosive.

Our guns have been fouled for days now with no issue. Before loading up, I treated the bores with my anti rust & patch lube, let it set up over night, loaded up and when my dad and brother shot their rifles at end, they have stayed dirty with no rust issue at all. Humidity is in the 70% + range as well.

Ask the guys on the AmericanLongRifle forum about Pyrodex. You'll get a different story from all of them.

Jon's rust preventative stuff might make the difference I don't know. I just know Pyrocrap rusts barrels. Even when you keep them clean.

The guys on ALR are black powder snobs that shoot holy black only and run off new guys coming in asking for help. Been there, left that crap twice lol.

I am about to run the bore camera down 3 bores that are currently loaded, but have been shot once in the field and left in gun cases over night and hunted with until the 14th. 7 days total.
