New Shotgun : P. Powell & sons 16g Empty
PostSubject: New Shotgun : P. Powell & sons 16g   New Shotgun : P. Powell & sons 16g EmptyJanuary 4th 2019, 6:47 pm

Came in today! Really solid shape for its age. Powell & sons made them from 1875 to 1891ish. This one is 16g and according to the barrel stamping, fine twist demascus barrel. Made in London. Everything works great, lock internals are in great shape, bore is clean with some minor freckling. I will have to measure, but I swear they seem to be 30" barrels! Beautiful walnut stock! Im not going to do anything other than clean the bore, oil it, rub in a little linseed oil onto the stock and that is it. I already checked the bores with my camera and the last fellow that put it up, pushed some grease into the breech plugs. He was also nice enough to install new nipples to!

I'll take pictures tomorrow.
