Just made a neat purchase that you should enjoy.
.

This week has been in the 40's when normal period should be in high 20's mid 30's.  The grass is getting shades of green.

That's correct kid, the best part is they would be simple to make and would be the smallest one that's still useable. The weight would be in ounces and take up no room in your pouch.   :rtup

Hey Buck
My best guess would be a Snuff Box.

It's a handy short starter probably used with a coned muzzle or a tapered muzzle like some of the English guns.

A coned muzzle wouldn't need a short starter.  Very Happy

I have had originals that needed that little extra to start the ball into the muzzle and have read old accounts of short starters used on both muzzle designs.

It wasn't coned enough. The whole point of coning a muzzle is to eliminate using a short starter.
