Mossberg Patriot .308 Empty
PostSubject: Mossberg Patriot .308   Mossberg Patriot .308 EmptyMarch 2nd 2019, 3:54 pm

My friend bought this today and we're making a list of what to replace and put on it. It has a cheapie scope/rings the shop threw on it to sell it. Its brand new, but the scope looks like a take off. No clue what it is.

I already have his scope picked out but I really want to do add a one piece mount/ring set up to this rifle. Any ideas?

Take a Look at DNZ, I installed one of these on a Friends Rifle, I was impressed with the Quality, Rock Solid Setup :tup2

Make sure it will still eject the rounds with a one piece mount.

I think good rings and judicious use of an alignment tool would be much better than a one-piece base on that rifle. A one-piece obstructs the view of the chamber, may cause ejection interference in some positions and single loading must be more precise. If there is the slightest variation off tangent the one-piece will exaggerate it where two rings with proper alignment will overcome the variance.

I share the same reasoning to go with a two ring setup.

I dont think you would be ok with a 1 piece mount .I have a 2 piece on my 300 Win Mag not sure it would eject easily with a 1 piece and would probably be a pain to reload. Dont have a scope on my 375 Ruger yet just been using sights havent made up my mind as to scope it or not.

Both my Patriots came with factory bases installed ,look to be Weaver  .I have a Leupold scope and rings on the 300 Win Mag and it has a stiff recoil and after a few hundred rounds nothing has loosened or shifted .If I decide to scope the 375 I will probably put the same set up on it.

I have one of these rifles and it came with a one piece mount and had to put the two piece mount because Mossberg drilled the scope mount holes wrong and the scope wouldn't have enough adjustment from left to right put two piece mounts and had plenty adjustment
