.. I got one of these from one of our lgs. I think it will work out just fine. It came with a muzzle protector/guide, .50 cal brass brush, cleaning jag and bullet puller. Now I can save my hickory rod for hunting.   https://www.cabelas.com/product/CVA-reg-Lifetime-Range-Rod/1383656.uts

This was not long enough for one of my rifles, I ended up going with a surplus 50 cal machine gun cleaning rod. 5 sections, rotating T-handle, and max length is 48". I just use 4 sections for what I need. Threaded 10-32, cost about $12.

Not a bad rod.

I use this one when I sit down and get serious on the range.

I've used this one for 20 plus years, cheap and has held up.

Dewey 1-Piece Cleaning Rod 50 BMG 11/32" Diameter 17" Brass 5/16 x 27 Thread

Adapter for attachments are available at most supply places like Midway which also handle these rods for under $20 bucks.

A 17" rod wouldn't do me much good. I'd have to screw 2 of them together.

I've been looking around for a range rod myself for my Pennsylvania Fowler which has a 46" barrel.  I ran across "The Log Cabin Shop".  They have quite a selection of range rods.  They have a 3/8" brass 36" and 44" and a 1/4" brass range rod 36" and 48" long tapped for 10 x 32 jags.

The cheapest range rods I have and probably the best are used military 30 caliber and 50 caliber machine gun rods purchased at a local gun show for peanuts.  Look at the guys pushing used military goods at the next gun show.
