scope base for an cva octagon barrel Empty
PostSubject: scope base for an cva octagon barrel   scope base for an cva octagon barrel EmptyFebruary 16th 2011, 5:36 pm

one of the guns I have on layaway has been drilled and taped for an scope.

I have been driving my self nuts trying to find bases for it. seems like everything I find them, you have to buy them in singles and every site only has one in stock. I don't want to order from two places and pay twice the shipping.

an gunsmith and myself have talked about this. maybe an marlin or win. lever action base may work.

I know of an place that sales blank bases, thinking about looking into that.

need help finding the base I need.

Couple of possibilities. I know Weaver makes bases for octagon or flat top receivers.
http://www.weaveroptics.com/mountcharts/default.aspx
Model 61 (#48061) comes in pairs, Model 50 (48050) is one piece.

Another option is to contact "Sheldon", owner of http://www.huntersrendezvous.com/index.html
He knows alot about repairs and setting up unique smokers.

If you have a drill press and know the screw thread type (gauge & number), like you said you can buy a blank base and drill the holes yourself. You should then be able to get the right length screws at a hardware store or a gun shop.

Keep us updated on any progress on this challenging project.
