Bushnell DOA 250 Empty
PostSubject: Bushnell DOA 250   Bushnell DOA 250 EmptyAugust 21st 2011, 4:55 pm

I recently had a Bushnell XLT 3-9x40 DOA 250 crash on my sons Triumph. I replaced the scope on the Triumph with a TBML 3-9x40 that I had on hand and sent the Bushnell back for repair or possible upgrade to a different scope. Well Bushnell wanted too much to upgrade to a 3200 Elite 3-9x40 so I told them to send me a new DOA 250 back. The scope arrived and Chaded was going to buy it but he found a great deal on a Nikon Monarch. I got tired of looking at the box so I decided to upgrade the scope on my .50 Encore Bergara barrel. It had a Simmons Aetec 3.8-12x44 on it which is a great scope but years of it being mounted on my CVA Magbolt 150 has the bottom of the scope and turret charred (only cosmetic damage). I will see how the new replacement holds up. The DOA 250 does fit perfectly in the DNZ EER mount!!

Well you know according to some..... break open muzzleloaders and anything other then a Knight are junk! Rolling Eyes

This puppy I already know will shoot MOA at 100yds with alot of combos. Laughing

This Pro Hunter frame has the #3 Bellm trigger spring and 51# hammer spring. I also added a Bellm Hammer extender to make it easier for my son to pull the hammer back when he uses it with the 6.8 Rem SPC barrel during the PA rifle season.

I am hoping the dusk to dawn 3-9x40 200 bdc scope i bought holds up on the Triumph. seems like the bushnells hold up fine and every once in awhile people get one that doesn't! i need a scope to shoot half way decent groups with the Triumph lol! when i first got and sighted it in a 50 yds, i was putting 2 rounds in a 3 shot group in 1 hole at 50 yds with open sights..yep them damn break action muzzle loaders don't shoot worth a damn Shocked

I'm looking forward to seeing your rig all put together. You have a great set-up. Putting them together is a lot of fun. We have a big family here in Southern Indiana. We crack on each others stuff every now and then. My nephew calls my gun the Noncore. I call his the Doe-Mega. I will come up with one for you soon. Laughing

Thanks Omega45, she is shooting good, too. Now if we can get Chad's Pro Hunter rockin', we'll be set. The blue frame sure shows the TC engraving well. Your gun looks awesome. I've always loved the way Encores look. My Apex is a great gun, but I can't deny that I'm an Encore guy.

I love my wife very much, but my Encore is my best friend. I'd hate to choose, it would stink being single again.

What's the general opinion of the stock on the TC's? Does it help recoil as much as TC claims?

My encore was purchased with the original stock. Upgrading to a Sims recoil pad helped a lot. When I upgraded to the flex tech stock, it was more for looks and feel than recoil reduction. I couldn't tell much of a difference over just having the Sims recoil pad.
