PostSubject: Tactical scopes   October 27th 2009, 6:32 pm

Ok i have a gun that has the possibility to shoot quite far.
A savage 10fp with 24" barrel accutrigger and chambered in .308win.

I have a cheapie 3x9x40 on it now and will see how it does for now..

I have never owned a tactical scope or even looked through one...I see cabellas has a brand of their own,,kinda of inexpensive,,,,

any experiences would be apreciated..

I bought one of my CVA's from Cabelas and it came with a Cabelas brand Pine Ridge 2.5X-7X scope on it. It is a relatively inexpensive scope compared to something like Nikon or Leupold, but I have had no reason to upgrade it. It's view is very crisp and sharp, mechanically sound, and has never fogged-up on me. don't know about their other scopes, but they do seem to stand by their products.

I've always used Bushnell Scopes on centerfire/muzzleloaders. ive never really even looked at a tactical scope. Good luck though and let us know how they work!

I have used tasco scopes just the el cheapy wally world,,and never had any trouble from them and they have been droped and dented many times and stayed on target,,..

I think i may buck up and buy one of their tactical scopes..but i will give this bass pro redhead 3x9 1 more chance on this .308...
I did not like it on my .50 cva..as it kept moving...

The scope is one of those multi turret scopes. So you dont have to hold over at different ranges ,,it is specific to different calibers and bullets...

just turn the turret for different yardages...6x18x40.
