PostSubject: Optima V2 ramrod length   January 8th 2014, 5:38 pm

I just bought a Optima V2 and I am surprised at the length of the ramrod.
Looking things over I see the ramrod will not/ does not reach the bottom of the barrel unless I take the time to screw on the included brass end.
I find this rather cumbersome to do. How does one take a quick second shot out in the field?
Anybody know of any better ramrod out there to use?

My concern is if I need a second shot the time it will take to screw the end on is a waste of time if a quick second shot is needed.

Or maybe I am missing something as I am rather new to inlines so teach me.

Thanks
JW

It works just fine when you have the powder and bullet in. I took 3 shots in a row while hunting and it worked perfect.

Exactly. The MR is the same way. It works fine with a load, and I screw on the long jag for cleaning.

I'm sure that's how CVA planned it.

yes thats long enough to swab the barrel if the field if you need to. I prefer to go the Blackhorn209 way myself.

You will be surprised how much space in the barrel is taken up when you put the powder and bullet in.
