CCI 209 Magnums are all I use. Federal 209a and winchester W209 will also work as well.

I got mine a couple years ago, 5000 and still shooting them. Most big sporting goods stores will have them. Regular cci primers should do well.

Doesn't make sense? Carlos sent me some CCI 209m primers a little while ago.

I have a bottle of BH 209 and 200 CCI 209m primers for sale. Interested JT?

I had some at that time, but I completely sold out, and have not been able to get any more, regardless of where I tried. Now since we have join a new buying group call SPORT INC, we can now by direct from the companies with out going thru the middle guys like whole sale houses, and the ATK rep is coming tomorrow and they own CCI so maybe thing will start looking  better.

Don't forget Fiocchi 616 Primers work well with all powders (Blackhorn 209 and Subs).

JT,
Carlos uses the The Fiocchi 616 primers also, that's who I get them from.
Scheels In Sioux City Ia
had 3 blocks of CCI primers there today, $30 a box.
If you live close to Sioux City, I have some extra CCI M and some Fiocchi 616 that you cuold try.

I have several thousand Remington 209 primers left over from when I used to reload shotgun shells. I've never had a misfire even though they are over 20 years old.

JT,
check out the SHOOTING RANGE section, they talk about different primers that are being used in different guns with different loads. You will need to find the right set up that your gun may like, and then try some different primers.  I have some extra primers if you need/want them.

Friday I will check around here to see if I can find some more CCI M primers or see if thet might have  a block of Winchester 209, and let you know. If you are like me 100 will not last long. Love that smell of powder.

JT the Federal 209A's will ignite BH209 just fine. As you alluded to in one of your other posts, I would recommend getting a 100 each of some different kinds of primers and when you settle on the one you want buy 1,000. I don't know anything about the Traditions so I can't help out there.

Fed 209a will do perfect.

Did you ever order those O rings to put into the breech plugs primer pocket? If not, I can send you a small supply.

One benefit of the Fiocchi 616 209 primer is that are slightly larger in diameter. A lot of people don't need to use o-rings to seal up the breech plug with them.

Ask Carlos which primers he uses. You will have confidence when you shoot.
