I know that BH209 doesn't hardly smoke at all compared to black powder but have never used BlackMZ.

Try Black MZ compared to Goex and I'll bet Goex is worse on the smoke.

remember, blackmz is nothing more than repackaged american pioneer powder, it still smokes up the place like real black powder, sometimes worse after a rain when the humidity is up.

Remember that the smoke is part and parcel of muzzleloading ....

Personally at the range, if I am taking the time to load one round in about 2-3 minutes, I want the entire experience of smoke and fire.  If it costs 1/2 as much, for the powder, all the better.  The only real downside is that you can't take movies of the bullet going down range if it's obscured by smoke.

I also took these slow motion shots of the REAL bullets going down range with BH209. With BlackMZ, all I got was a closeup of a smoke cloud.

That's some fancy camera. The bullet looks like a thrown rock. Neat!  t up
