 shimming up a accura mr

i am shimming my accura mr. I used  a .020 shim.  the only one I had left.  when I close the rifle on a primer sometimes it takes two times to close solid. the primer only crimps down .004 from the original. to much shim?  i'ts probably some dumb mistake I did.

To much shim, you shouldnt have to it hard to get it to seal up. Maybe try .015" worth of shim and see how that works.

do the shimes last for ever or do you have to change them over time.
