Reading through my little dutch schoultz booklet I came across a part where he says not to compact the ball against the powder as it slows down the burn rate, lowers the power and slows down the bullet.

Interesting as we were talking about chrony loads and such. I tend to seat my balls firmly and I've noticed some folks say I am getting 100+ fps over what they get. Granted they are at sea level while I am at 7300 Ft.

Next time I use the chrony, I am going to be doing some real hard seating VS the way I normally load and see what the results are.

Jon you're right I've also noticed varying velocities if I play around with the degree of load compaction.
