There's some good deer hunting (or used to be) SE of Erie. I haven't been there in over 15 years to see if it's still good.

Welcome to the forum. Tell us some hunting stories and show us some pictures.  tongue

Welcome to the forum.

Who would have thought the name blackpowder hasn't been taken yet?

currently actively shooting: .62/20ga flint trade gun i built about 25 years ago. prb, card over the powder, 70gr 3f. killed a ton of deer with that load and its very accurate. shot about all small game you can think of, several spring gobblers, ducks and geese.   .32cal built in the 1970's, douglas xx barrel, l&r flintlock, 38" barrel, great on paper, just getting ready to do some woodchuck hunting with it and its my new squirrel rifle. .310 rb, .10 patch, 30gr 3f for woodchucks, 20gr for squirrels.   original half stock cap rifle, 25" .36cal barrel, 1 1/4" across the flats original early remington barrel. it weighs 11 1/2 pounds. good squirrel rifle off the shooting sticks!  .350 rb, .10 patch, 20gr 3f. i have 2 more original guns that are good project guns that need some work. maybe someday.

You'll need to use Photobucket or another photo-sharing site to post pictures on the forum.

#1) Send us photos of your guns especially your trade gun ... PLEASE.  :rtup

years ago when i first built the gun, i had just got a new beagle puppy. i hunted her for 14 years, and every rabbit i shot with her, i shot with that gun. what a great dog. she was just slow enough, that most shots where very slow hopping shots or sitting shots with the rabbit stopping to look back for the dog. if i missed, she would circle it right back around for another chance at it. had a few that it took a few circles, but it sure was a good time.
