scratch

I need to know that if I replace the nipple on my T/C's with a shorter nipple, the barrel is shorter where you slide the percussion cap onto, will it hurt the hammer or lock and mess up the performance of the rifle Question  Question

Ray as long as the hammer still contacts the nipple at full forward movement I see no problem.

Not at all. The nipple that comes on TC guns is usually very short, and it aligns ok. I've used a very short nipple on mine all the way to a tall musket cap nipple, and they all worked.

The only difference would be if the hammer's arc changes enough to cause it to strike the nipple other than square (at a right angle). Obviously, none are exactly square but close enough works.
