"Mail ordering a rifle is like mail ordering a bride."

Sure wish I had not mentioned that, I worked with a guy who ordered a mail order bride from Russia.

Will not share his experiences, kind of like late Lyman purchases.

Friend shipped me an "old" Lyman" .360 single cavity mold, in trade for a 6 pack of beer, it may be slow in casting but it is a joy to cast with, when you measure each ball, they are all the same weight.  He is getting 3 six packs for it.

Back to the OP, given a choice it would be an older Lyman in Percussion or a Flintlock unless you get a Lyman from either Dixon's or TOW with a 3 day inspection.  Between Percussion and Flintlock, it would be percussion, not all folks are flintlock shooters.

Picking a rifle in like buying boots, need to try them on first.

To me buying a rifle is like getting married because once I buy it I never sell it
