Well finally got the rifle about 90% complete...I still need to finish the stock, and brown the furniture...It is a 32 Cal Rice barrel 32" long, a straight trigger, walnut stock and steel furniture...It started out as a project comprised of spare parts that I had around the shop...And this is the outcome...As soon as I get the sights on I'm going to shoot it...I also have about 70 some pictures of different stages of the project...

Thats going to be one hell of a fine looking pea shooter! I can't wait to see that one.

HillJack, I got an old 1840s-50s full stock percussion conversion. It appears to be .40cal, what size ball should a 40cal be using?

I forgot some very important information like...Its barrel is 7/8" and the trigger has a 3 pound pull that is very crisp and clean...It is a bit on the heavy side, but I like them that way...Just under 8 lbs...

I use .395s in my .40. Suggest you get a good measure on the bore.  use a ball that won't fall down the bore, no patch, lube it good and seat it in the bore - yes swage it in - then pull and measure it.

I like .005" under land to land and patch about = to one groove depth.
TC.

Thanks looking forward to playing with it...I always shoot them in the white for a bit to see if there are any changes that need to be made...I hate doing it if I finish it and then have to make changes...
