FINALLY found a good builder!  .50cal CVA Hawken with a real nicely shaped lock piece area. I don't plan on using the barrel so up for sale or ebay it goes when she comes in.

Now I am not 100% sure what I want to do or if I will do like I did for Ray and offer it as a You pick it, I build it, kind of offer.

I was seriously considering a .32cal or .45cal barre for it.

One thing I learned from the previous 2 Hawken builds, Acraglas under the tang and trigger plate is a target shooters best friend!

With the .32 or .45cal barrel I may bed the entire forearm.

Nice!  You've inspired me.  I was just bidding on one locally at an online estate auction.  Someone wanted it more than I.  I also bidded on a T/C Hawken 45 with the hopes of fixing it up.  Some people are willing to pay way too much for a used smokepole that needs a lot of TLC.

Looks like Friday she'll be in! Already took note of items I'll need to complete the job, so time to restock some supplies.

Yep, you bet I am. Threads like these really have been a huge success as far as views go. Its always fun to see something in rough form and then the finished product.

Should also be a good way for you to see what we can do with yours and what you'd change when it comes time for your rifle.

Got both! The 50cal thank god has a 1" barrel on it! Easy drop in for the 54-58cal barrel if I go that route. Going to take the lock off now and check through it and see how clean it is and then start on the bore.
