Hello everyone. Found your forum recently while Googling how to refinish a Hawken.  Glad I found your forum, it has a ton of knowledge from what I see.

I just won a 50 TC Hawken on Gunbroker. My first cap lock in twenty plus years.  I can't wait to start shooting it.

Welcome abroad! I love it when we get a new member shooting traditional muzzies!

You'll enjoy that rifle a lot I am sure. I just bought myself another CVA Hawken and hope to do some How to videos on lock polishing, trigger polishing and most importantly, refinishing your stock. I am a huge fan of Truoil and want to make a video showing how to properly apply it.

As always, when help is needed, always ask.

Thanks! Looking forward to your videos.  I've been reading past posts on your rifle builds, beautiful work!

Hunting with a sidelock muzzleloader is much more satisfying for me. I hardly ever use my in-line anymore.

Welcome to the group.

welcome Scott,
we have a similar story. I let my T/C Hawken 50 cal go years ago to a buddy because he wanted to get into the game, regretted it ever since. Well this summer I won one off of Gunbroker as well, and I have been pretty psyched about it since. You will have fun figuring out the magic bullet/powder combo that works for it I am sure.
