Jon,

I might have missed it but never saw what caliber it is. Is it another .58?

ohhh friggin hurry up already! Just waiting on the rear sight to brown. Looks like I can scuff it after this coating and then hit it once more and shes done!

Rifle looks so sharp right now. I got the tang finished today, screw is all snugged down TIGHT and the barrel is in place. I even got the ramrod to match the color of the stock for once.

Next up with me my Hawken. I want to brown the barrel on it as well.

Pictures will hopefully be coming tomorrow.

Laurel Mountain Forge. Its slow but it comes out damn smooth without lines and stuff.

Well, I am considering pulling the brass off tomorrow if its nice and doing a Matte finish on the stock for better grip. After adding that new heavier duty trigger spring and doing a polishing job on the trigger sear bar itself, the trigger breaks in the single Ounce numbers. I feel that a slick stock may be a bit to risky.

Thoughts?

Gun is all together and looks friggin sweet! A beautiful dark chocolate brown goes along great with the stocks color. The rear sight looks awesome as well and will function once the shoot dials in some loads and files down the front sight to use for longer distances.

Jon, you may be taking a (legal and financial) risk by selling a gun with a trigger that light. I assume you are talking about the set trigger. Get a signed release from a potential buyer stating that he/she realizes it has a very light trigger and that they accept the responsibility that goes with it. I think that should CYA if they or their survivors  Crying or Very sad try to sue you for contributing to an accident.

I agree with patocazador..a trigger that light may be a hazard ...When I use to shoot metal silouettes yearsago i had a Ruger .44 mag Blackhawk flat top I had trigger done and was a 10oz release...at times just bringing finger into the trigger housing would make it fire..I had to get a new trigger assembly ..it would not pass the drop test by any means...I had new one done to 2.5 pounds..felt much safer

There could be liability with a trigger being so light...modified beyond factory specs
