PostSubject: bought a new toy today   January 4th 2015, 10:47 pm

A kid had this Rem. model 700ml .50 in the local classifieds for 250.00, through e-mails he told me the barrel had some light pitting in barrel, told him Id give him 185.00 for it... a hr. later I was back home with it.. in really good shape other then very light pitting right at bore and a little bit of rust around breech/reciever area but very little... hope to get to shoot it in a week or so, weather is going to be bad for the next week with highs of 4 deg. a day or two with lows in single digits most of the week.

Nice! Not a bad price either, especially if the pitting is only light. Smokeless conversion down the road?

To be honest not much on the smokeless thing, I just really like the feel of these guns, shoulder and point great and the other 3 I had were very accurate. The rifling is nice and crisp so it shouldnt effect the accuracy any..

You know....my wife always asks me; "and why do you need more than one?".  I haven't figured out a answer yet.

Just tell her, "Honey, I only need one wife, YOU, but I do need more than one gun."

She'll think that over and decide that more than one gun is better than the alternative.

I get ask this question almost every other day... my answer is always I could start drinking, smoking and going back to the bars and playing pool 10 hrs a day, how much do you think that would cost....never have smoked, drank very little but I did used to spend alot of money playing pool and getting good at it..that usually ends the discussion.

That is a good deal, I bought one back in February 2014 it and another gun (m/l) for $100.00. Love mine !  It had some rust in the same areas as you said yours did. I shoot 90grs Pyrodex RS and a 200grn Shockwave. Good luck with it, keep us posted.
