PostSubject: 416 BACK AT THE RANGE   February 4th 2015, 6:42 pm

Well took the 416 out today to try a new powder charge. this time I used 78 gr. of IMR 4064, and the bullets were the Barnes TSX 300 gr., the Barnes TSX 350 gr. and the Barnes TSSX blue tip boat tail 350 gr. The speed were, as follows. The Barnes TSX 300 gr. average speed was 2522 fps, the TSX 350 gr. average speed was 2449 fps and the TSSX 350 gr. speed was 2436 fps. They all shot great and I'm please with the results. Next trip wiil be going up two grains to 80 gr. and that should put me where I want to be at. Firs target are the TSX, and the TSSX 350 gr. both had the same POI and  there are seven shots in that group. The next target were the 300 gr. TSX and they also did great, there are six shot in that group. Good range day.

Excellent shooting! Most three shot groups don't look that good.
